It is hard to believe that we are into 2012 already but, before we got too far in, I wanted to do a recap on all of the wines that were featured in the Wine A Day series I blogged about during the month of December. Rather than doing a straight recap from day to day of each wine, I decided it would make more sense to group them by the region they are found inthe province.  If you recall, all of these wines, when blogged about, were available at LCBO locations throughout the province.  Now, since I blogged about some of these wines they have sold out at either the LCBO or the winery or both but, for the most part, there is still availability of a lot of these wines.  Let’s start with the wines that could be found at wineries located in the Niagara Bench area of the province.

We now leave the Niagara Peninsula and head east to Prince Edward County where we found three great wines to celebrate with during the month of December.  There were two sparkling wines as well as a delicious Rose wine that would pair perfectly with a Roast Turkey dinner.

There were a sampling of wines that I threw into the mix when planning this series that came from northern locations in the province. These wineries stretch from the Collingwood area all the way up to Bala in the “cottage country” area of our province.

Here it is – 31 daysof wine, all from Ontario wineries for you to enjoy.  I hope that you were able to pick some of these up during the last month and enjoyed them with family and friends.  If not, I hope you get a chance in the next month to drop by the winery or the LCBO to pick up some of these delicious drinks.  Incidentally, if you are thinking a trip to a winery at this time of the year is a bad idea, I suggest you make your way down to Niagara anytime after the 13th of January (until the end of the month) to check out Niagara’s famed Icewine Festival.  It is seventeen days of festivities focusing on a style of wine that we do exceptionally well here in Ontario.  Cheers,
